Oakville East
Core Stone
Red Wine
This “Right Bank” styled blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (57%), Cabernet Franc (42%) and Merlot (1%) from our Oakville East Vineyards brings forward aromas of blueberry, blackberry, tobacco, vanilla, marshmallow, black currant, tea, roses, violets, dust and a hint of mint.
The mid palate is full bodied with fine velvet chewy tannins with bright balanced acidity, with flavors of rhubarb, cocoa, strawberry, cassis, and plum.
The last two vintages received 95 points from the famous European wine writer, James Suckling.
Did you know?
Named after the exposed Core Stones from a collapsed Vaca Mountain.
Consistently rated in the mid 90’s by wine writers.
When young, Cabernet Franc fills in the middle palate with huge flavors and aromas.
Soft elegant tannins allow for young consumption; however the wine will last easily for 15 years.
A Bordeaux styled wine with magnificently vibrant fruit and structured wood influence which is not overpowering.
